Ebizo Japanese Restaurant Ltd: Experience Authentic Japanese Cuisine in Victoria BC

We had the Dinner set (with rice, miso, vegetables) - Ginger Pork and Assorted Prawn and Vegetable Tempura for $21 each set was yummy and comforting Japanese food. A lot of food and great value for money. NY steak teriyaki dinner was subpar, it felt like it lacked flavor. there’s nothing wrong with the steak, I just thought it didn’t pair well with teriyaki. Very attentive service and great ambiance.

Great food and atmosphere. Eating on the bar is a recommended experience. The best sushi in town and one I have ever had. If you are in Victoria BC, you must stop by and try out the selection they have to offer.

A hidden gem ( next to Beaver Tails ) in downtown Victoria. Get reservations, as this place is very busy! Cheerful staff that are having a good time. I must have seen at least 5 pickup orders during my meal, as it was packed. Recommended by locals for very good reason! Fantastic quality, excellent presentation, and one of the best neighbourhood restaurants. Bbq Unagi is so good!

It is a great service and place I order a ramen but I usually order regular noddles and Instead I order udon I wasn’t much a fan of them but I also tried same thing but regular and it was so tasty and good, we order some nigiri toro and Saba, I expected to be fire flame first but it was raw which is completely fine but in some Japanese they do it for Saba nigiri that is fire for bringing flavour to it. Overall I enjoyed the experience :)

Neat little spot with tasty sushi and other Japanese offerings. Service is prompt and attentive. We didn't make a reservation and were able to find a table, but it looks as of it might fill up fast if you come too late.

I honestly think 3 stars is really generous. I had high hopes based on the past reviews, but its not that good. You need to make a reservation since it's not that big, and the service is slow and indifferent at best. I think we waited for more than 45 minutes for our food and it didn't arrive at the same time. Im thinking take out orders were given priority. The sushi was fine, but the rice was cold. The salmon and new york steak teriyaki were also just okay and served almost western style. The beef noddle soup was bland and didnt taste like anything. Honestly, there are better Japanese restaurants nearby, so please avoid this one.

Ebizo is a bit of an odd experience that sticks out compared to the typical sushi experiences in BC. Their menu is more of the traditional Japanese style, being very barebones and simple when it comes to offering appetizers, dishes, and even rolls, with a focus on nigiri and sashimi. Usually when a sushi joint does this, they have extremely high quality offerings for fish, such as Bluefin Tuna or King Salmon. Ebizo, however, only offers normal sushi-quality fish ubiquitous to sushi places here, just done so with only a slightly higher quality. We also got the beef teriyaki dinner, which was really gamey and was not tender.
